HIPAA & HITECH Compliance

Professional Negligence and Healthcare Section Co-Chair Chris Vrettos will discuss HIPAA and HITECH compliance.  Topics will include record requests by individuals, HIPAA authorizations, assisting health care clients with accountings of disclosures, application of privacy and security rules to “business associates” by HITECH, breach notification under HITECH, and monetary penalties for HITECH violations.
